Life, the Universe and Everything sees Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect stranded in prehistoric Earth, at least for a while. But things get better, and then worse, and then a little better – our heroes eventually find themselves trying to save the universe from the evil Krikkit robots, who are trying to unlock the Wikkit Gate.
Sound familiar? Yep, Douglas Adams managed to retain his truly British sense of humour for this, the third book in the Hitch Hiker’s series (and possibly the most absurd one at that). If you liked the other books, you’ll love this one – if you didn’t, what the hell’s wrong with you?
And if you’ve never read Adams at all, get out of here. So long, and all that…
