This is a collection of six of Albert Camus’ short stories, and while I did find that they were hit and miss, there was one story in particular which stood out to me. That was The Artist at Work, which had some interesting musings on the nature of art and being an artist and which also showed the human cost that being successful in an artistic field can lead to.

Other than that, I was actually a little disappointed by these stories, and that was because they were just okay. Camus has been a favourite of mine for a little while now and he’s normally at the top of his game, and so the stories here made me think that perhaps he’s one of those writers who needs a novel to get all his ideas out.
