This book was awesome! Basically, it’s a graphic novel biography of Agatha Christie, told in a semi-fictionalised way through conversations between Christie and some of her most well-known characters, including Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple and Tommy and Tuppence.

At times, the characters’ dialogue didn’t seem true to Christie’s originals, but it’s still a fun read with its basis in historical fact about the life of the Queen of Crime.

Agatha Christie – Endless Night

So much positive press gets heaped upon Hercule Poirot and Miss Marples that when the Queen of Crime wrote a book that didn’t feature either of the characters, I always feel as though fans overlooked them. This one, though, is one that you shouldn’t miss.

It’s not exactly a stereotypical crime thriller, but a crime is committed – in fact, it’s almost a romance novel for the first half and a crime novel for the second half. The crime isn’t what shocked me, though – the twists were. There were two in particular that got me – the initial crime itself, and then the ending in which all is revealed.

Annoyingly, I can’t write why it was that they caught me so off guard without giving away too much detail, but I can promise you that if you’re an Agatha Christie fan and you haven’t read this book yet, then you should do. It’s way better than her Tommy & Tuppence books, and it’s better than most of the Marples and some of the Poirots. I feel kind of stingy giving it an 8/10, but I’m a tough guy to please.
