Well, I’m not too sure what to make of this – it’s probably one of the strangest books I’ve ever read, and I did enjoy it for what it was. Unfortunately, Barratt’s writing is clunky and often sounds unnatural, but I didn’t let that put me off because of the unusual story-line.
Put simply, it follows a nurse called Leigh who’s working at a hospital when a man in a coma with a permanent 10-inch erection is admitted. Inevitably, she has sex with him, and so does pretty much everyone else – Leigh and her friend Karen even rent out the penis to women who want a baby but are currently unable to because their partner is infertile. Of course, that happens just before Leigh and Karen have steamy lesbian sex.
I won’t say too much more because if you do decide to read it, I don’t want to ruin the story-line any more than I already have. As for me, I managed to enjoy it, despite the typos.
