Terry Pratchett – Nanny Ogg’s Cookbook

This book is an odd one, because it’s a real book that’s based on a fictional book, which appears in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. Nanny Ogg’s Cookbook is ostensibly a collection of the witch’s recipes, but I have to admit that I didn’t try any of them.

But they are, at least, all possible, and there’s some additional writing on the Discworld here that you won’t find anywhere else. Unfortunately, the very fact that you won’t find it anywhere else means that I felt compelled to read this, without the slightest desire to make any of the recipes. Perhaps that’s why I rated it more harshly than any other Pratchett book to date.

Regardless, if you’re really into the Discworld then this probably has a place on your bookshelf – just be warned, that if you’re a weirdo like I am and insist on reading every page, that you’re in for a long haul. Good luck!
