I picked up a box set of the Horrible Histories books and so I’ve been reading through a bunch of them, which has started to make me feel a little jaded. This one gave me my mojo back though, and it took me by surprise because I’ve never been particularly keen on the Greeks. I’ve always preferred the Romans, Vikings and Egyptians.
The only thing that I will say is that Deary presented Archimedes‘ death ray as proven historical fact, but I watch Mythbusters and I’m pretty sure they proved that it wasn’t possible. But then these books have been around for a while and so perhaps that was the latest thinking at the time. Other than that though, I thought this was pretty good!
