The concept behind Be Careful What You Wish For is pretty simple, and it’s one that people have used before in things like fairy tales. Stine effectively takes a look at how having a wish come true might not be the best thing that ever happened to you, and it’s a lot of fun along the way. I have fond memories of reading this book as a kid, but even taking an objective look at it as an adult, there’s a lot to be said for it. And it’s just the right amount of scary, too.
