This is basically the Italian version of The Art of War, with Machiavelli writing a series of vignettes that draw upon history to provide lessons to rulers who want to have a long and successful reign. Because of that, it kind of reads more like a history book than anything else, but I had no problem with that, though I don’t think it would have been able to hold my attention for much longer. But then again, I’m not a prince, so there’s that.
