This book was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend, and I can understand why she gave it to me. It’s right up my street.
I’ve been vaguely interested in Zen for a while now, but I haven’t known too much about it. In this book, Norbury breaks down some of the main concepts and makes them super simple for anyone to learn from them, and that includes kids.
What’s clever is that it’s told as a series of stories that take place against the backdrop of the wider narrative of a cat that’s going on a journey to try to find wisdom. It turns out that wisdom might just be in the last place it thought to look.
Shay said it made her cry when she finished it, but it didn’t have that effect for me. However, it has made me rethink the way that I look at the world, for the better.
