This book was always going to do well, and the clue as to why is in the title. My favourite Isaac Asimov collection is I, Robot, which I think is nothing short of a masterpiece, and this basically brings together the rest of Asimov’s robot stories and sits alongside it as a sort of sister collection.

There’s some great stuff here, as there always is when Asimov plays with the laws or robotics and investigates the different ways in which they can be broken, and it’s also the kind of book that you can whizz through, too.

Most short story collections have a problem in which some of the stories are considerably better than the others, but the good thing about this one is that it’s just solid gold throughout. There weren’t really any that I enjoyed more or less than the others, although one or two of them were on the shorter side.

We also have Asimov’s inimitable introductory essays, which are a lot more fun than they sound. Typically taking up a couple of pages or so, they go into the story behind the story and provide a lot of insight into Asimov’s writing. I’m a happy reader.
