Author: H. P. Lovecraft
Type: Fiction

Rating: 3.5/5
I couldn’t decide between a 3/5 and a 3.5/5 for this one, and that’s kind of a shame. People have been telling me for ages that I should pick up Lovecraft because I’d love him, and this one at least just didn’t quite live up to all of the hype.
Don’t get me wrong, it was okay, and there were a few curios in there like a piece that he ghost wrote for Harry Houdini, but it also dragged a little and only a few of the stories really grabbed my attention. On the plus side, Lovecraft has a unique writing style that’s interesting to say the least, even if there were times at which it was a little too much and ended up getting in the way of the stories.
Overall, while I was expecting more from this, I’ll still read some more Lovecraft in the future. I was just expecting a new favourite author and I doubt he’d make my top fifty.
