Wow, now this is the sort of book that doesn’t come around very often – the journal that Graham Greene kept during his visits to Africa, which was never meant for publication. Greene decided to turn it in to a book because it shows the thought process as he developed characters for two of his novels, A Burnt-Out Case and The Heart of the Matter, and it really makes for interesting reading whether you’ve read the novels or not, particularly for writers.
