I might be a little bit biased here because I have a poem in this collection called Vantablack, but I think this is one of the better literary magazines that I’ve come across of late.
It has a little bit of everything, from some cracking fiction to some fantastic poetry and a couple of interesting pieces of non-fiction. I also like the fact that everything is themed around materials, because that gave it a kind of internal consistency that I haven’t often seen in a lit mag.
It’s also just a beautiful artefact in and of itself, which I’d like to think is deliberate. I’m sure their other issues are this stunning too, but the fact that they have an issue on materials that’s made out of high quality materials and which is well-designed and beautifully laid out is just… *chef’s kiss*.
I didn’t like everything I read in here, but I don’t think that’s the point of a literary magazine. And it made me think a lot.
