I didn’t think I was going to enjoy this book when I picked it up, purely because of the subject matter. It basically tells the story of Jesus’s life, but from the point of view of his mother, Mary. Because of that, it reminded me a little bit of The Good Man Jesus and The Scoundrel Christ by Philip Pullman, which I recently read. This wasn’t as good, but I did enjoy it in the end, and the writing was great.
