This book was surprisingly fun for what it was. Sure, it wasn’t particularly long, but it was a fun little experiment and a great indicator of the kind of thing that Clarke is capable of, even if it’s not necessarily one of his better known works.
As for what it’s about… well, it’s kind of like a cross between a science fiction novel and a story about a castaway. It’s like Robinson Crusoe but with space, except that the action takes place on our planet and we don’t have the interstellar travel that you might expect from a master of SFF like Arthur C. Clarke.
Anyway, the long and short is that it was a fun read.
