This is a great little read, essentially working as a poetry collection featuring work by Thomas Hardy, A. E. Housman, John Betjeman, W. H. Auden, Louis MacNeice and Philip Larkin.
But what was really cool about this was that Bennett also included biographical information on each of the poets, as well as his own little stories and anecdotes. It made for a super engaging read and one that I didn’t want to finish it, which is unusual for more traditional poetry collections. But there’s a sequel!
