I wasn’t expecting this book to be particularly good, in part because it’s bizarre fiction and so in some ways it’s supposed to be bad. It’s bad by design, in a way that ultimately makes it so bad it’s good.
I’m also not American, and so I wasn’t convinced I’d understand the political references and some of the humour. But I needn’t have worried, I thought it was pretty approachable for a Brit and some of the weird sex scenes and epic metaphors and similes had me laughing out loud.
