I’m already familiar with Loera’s poetry because I watch his YouTube channel, Madman Reads and Rocks. This collection is technically three collections in one and I thought it was interesting that when I read it, I read it in his voice.

As the title suggests, his work is both abstract and mental and perhaps not for the faint of heart. But if you’re into experimental free verse stuff, which is basically the only kind of poetry that I like, then you’re in for a treat. As for me, I’m definitely glad that I picked this up and I’d read more Loera poetry.

Gertrude Stein - Food

Gertrude Stein – Food

Stein’s work was always experimental and this is no different. What I like about this is that it’s about food and that at the same time, it’s not. It’s about life and how our food relates back to the lives that we live.
