Title: Home
Author: Salman Rushdie
Type: Fiction
Page Count/Review Word Count: 92
Rating: 4/5

Home contains excerpts from Shame, Imaginary Homelands, East, West and Joseph Anton, none of which I’ve ever read. In fact, I haven’t picked up any of Rushdie’s stuff before, but I’ve always wanted to and this was a pretty decent little introduction for me. Rushdie has a certain way with words that just makes his stuff super satisfying to read, whether you’re interested in the subject matter or not. I must read more.

Jeanette Winterson – Love | Review
Title: Love
Author: Jeanette Winterson
Type: Non-Fiction/Fiction
Page Count/Review Word Count: 122
Rating: 3.5/5
This was okay I guess, but the main problem I had with it is that it’s basically a set of excerpts from Winterson’s books along with her running commentary on what inspired her to write them. I think I would have liked this a lot more if I’d actually read the books that she was talking about.
Still, I did quite like the writing style, and there were a number of standout quotes throughout it that made it a joy to read. I also like how it covers all different types of love, including same sex representation and the love of a mother.
